The Addison Gallery of American Art has asked me to create public pieces on campus to commemorate fifty years of coeducation launching in Spring 2024. We plan to install a large aluminum “doily” on the museum façade and another on the Abbot Circle. Our goal is to promote discussion and action around the changing dynamics of gender and education. This needlework inspired pieces acknowledge the contribution of women and the desire to promote a more equitable learning environment by highlighting the complicated history of coeducation.
